Bombardier Aerospace C Series Ciasta
Montreal, Quebec
Founded in 1942 as L’Auto-Neige Bombardier Limitée, Bombardier began by helping people travel across the snow-covered roads of rural Québec. Founder Joseph-Armand Bombardier later created the Ski-Doo brand, and the company continued to expand throughout the following decades, entering the railway industry in the 1970s before moving into aerospace with the acquisition of Canadair in 1986. Today, Bombardier is a leading original equipment manufacturer in the aerospace industry.
As Bombardier’s aerospace operations continued to grow, so did the need to expand access to pilot training. Previously, all Bombardier training was conducted at the company’s training center in Dallas, limiting the number of clients who could participate. To increase training opportunities for clients located closer to their bases of operation, Bombardier partnered with WIELAND and Ghafari Associates in 2010 to design and build a new 40,000 SF training facility near Montreal, Québec.
The facility became home to a new Level D Full-Flight Simulator for Challenger 300 aircraft training, allowing clients from across Canada and the northern United States to access training closer to home. Through the project, WIELAND helped support Bombardier’s continued growth by delivering a specialized facility designed to expand the company’s training capabilities.
