Nearly 100 years ago, Clyde Cessna set out to accomplish what others said could not be done: build a monoplane with a wing supported without struts or braces. When the Cessna All Purpose aircraft first took to the skies, its cantilever wing design helped change the aerospace industry forever.

That spirit of innovation continues today. Cessna remains a leader in piston aircraft for training and recreation, rugged and versatile turboprops, and its fleet of CITATION jets. As the company’s product offerings have grown, so has its manufacturing footprint, including four primary facilities dedicated to producing its aircraft.

In 2010, WIELAND was selected to help Cessna consolidate and relocate manufacturing equipment and tooling from its Columbus, GA, facility to its Chihuahua, MX, operation. The complex process involved demobilizing large-scale equipment, loading it onto trucks, transporting it more than 1,450 miles, and reassembling it inside the Chihuahua warehouse. The project required careful coordination and execution across an international supply chain, bringing WIELAND’s experience in complex industrial work to support Cessna’s continued growth and innovation.
