Sofidel

Sofidel Group, headquartered in Porcari, Italy, has evolved into a global leader of both hygienic and domestic-use paper. Founded in 1966, Sofidel has expanded to have production in twelve European nations, and now, the United States. 

WIELAND completed an addition to Sofidel’s Circleville, OH, facility. The original building was completed in 2018. Due to a surge in demand for hygienic tissue products during COVID-19, WIELAND came on board to construct a 500,000 SF expansion. The expansion provides additional space for a new Valmet DCT 200 paper machine. The machine has a production capacity of 70,000 metric tons and will push the plant’s total capacity to 200,000 metric tons, making it Sofidel’s most important site worldwide. 

The project commenced in January 2024, and after just over a year, will be completed before the beginning of 2026.
