Chimp Haven

It has been a little while since groundbreak, but WIELAND is making strong progress on the Chimp Haven Sanctuary expansion in Keithville, LA. The team officially broke ground during a celebratory ceremony in May and has since been hard at work on 23,000 SF of new animal enclosure space. These corrals will provide additional room for the 300 former research chimpanzees who now enjoy their retirement at the world’s largest chimpanzee sanctuary, offering the comfort and quality of life they deserve.

After beginning work on the expansion, WIELAND was also awarded a contract to replace the site’s storm drain piping. This upgrade will help prevent flooding and reduce potential property damage, improving the overall environment for the chimps. Both projects reflect WIELAND’s commitment to supporting Chimp Haven’s mission of providing the best possible care for these remarkable animals.
