Fish Ladder Music Park

The Fish Ladder Music Park in Old Town is officially open! It offers a new music amphitheater that seamlessly wraps around the iconic Brenke Fish Ladder on the Grand River. Creating a truly unique accessible hub where the rhythms of local art and nature harmoniously flow, the park now serves as the permanent home of Lansing’s DAM JAM, celebrating Michigan art and music.

Built in the 1980s as a fish migration support, WIELAND’s work included new guest seating, an ADA ramp, a stage, a sound booth, event lighting, and added features such as riverfront swings, engraved benches, and a gas-powered fireplace for gatherings. Construction began in early March and finished seven months later, with the completed park delivered to the Community Foundation and Lansing’s Parks and Recreation Department.
