Gillespie Ground – Wall Break

You cannot start a redevelopment without taking down the first wall, and at WIELAND that idea guided Monday’s “wall break” ceremony. Leaders from the Gillespie Group, the City of Lansing, and numerous economic development agencies gathered to mark the start of renovation at 603-613 East Michigan Avenue in downtown Lansing. More than a century old and once home to the Lansing City Rescue Mission, the project will deliver about 15 housing units and 6,900 SF of commercial space across from Jackson Field and just blocks from the State Capitol.

Building on its successful partnership that delivered Marketplace Apartments, WIELAND and the Gillespie Group are working to bring more quality housing options to Lansing’s residents, with completion expected next fall.
