It is not every day a celebrity shows up on a WIELAND site, but when one does, we are ready with a camera! The demolition of Loyola College Prep’s Residence Hall was interrupted by a surprise appearance from none other than Snoopy, the world-famous comic strip icon and beloved Loyola mascot.

Snoopy, who once battled the Red Baron on his doghouse during WWI, proudly represents Loyola’s mascot, the “Flyers”. The nickname pays tribute to nearby Barksdale Air Force Base, which was named in honor of its own WWI pilot.

WIELAND is proud to help revitalize the historic campus. Renovation of the Residence Hall includes all three stories, attic, new elevator shaft, and two new stairwells, totaling over 20,500 SF of upgraded space. Work began in July and is expected to be completed in 2026.
