WIELAND is proud to partner with MSM North America as the Design-Build/Construction firm supporting the $635M Iowa Army Ammunition Plant (IAAAP) FAC 2.0 project near Burlington, Iowa.
MSM North America, WIELAND, and several other entities have been selected to collaborate on the design and construction of a state-of-the-art load, assemble, and pack (LAP) facility that will support the Army’s next generation of 155mm artillery rounds. The facility will incorporate assembly equipment and robotics from IPS Custom Automation and will rely heavily upon industrial engineering and manufacturing expertise from DetTX. The modernized production facility will be designed to maximize production efficiency and throughput for the US Army.
“Nearly two years ago, the US Army earmarked $1.5B to enhance domestic artillery production capabilities and ensure scalable dynamic output in both wartime and peacetime,” said Chris Jurkoshek, WIELAND’s Project Director. “Through our role with the MSM team, WIELAND is facilitating site development, utility infrastructure, and construction of an advanced manufacturing complex designed to meet the Army’s long-term armament and ammunition production requirements.”
